Virginia Institute of Theology
Virginia Institute of Theology (VIT) is a ministry of JPBC that offers instruction and training for those who desire to grow in their faith and be better equipped to help others grow in Christ. We believe churches have the primary responsibility to make disciples and train pastors. To that end, we cooperate with other faithful ministries that come alongside churches to help train disciples for ministry.

Systematic Theology I: God and Man
Who is God and who are we? John Calvin famously said that true wisdom consists almost entirely of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves. These doctrines of God and man are foundational truths on which the Christian life is built. This course offers an accessible introduction to these doctrines so that all Christians can better understand who God is and how he speaks in Scripture. Topics include the names, triune nature, and attributes of God, as well as the nature of man made in God’s Image as male and female.
The Foundation Class is the lecture open to everyone from 6 - 7:15pm. The Seminary Class is an advanced study from 7:30 - 9pm with additional reading and homework. The course is offered in partnership with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, allowing students to transfer the course for credit to SBTS at no additional charge.

Partner church Residency
Description
One of our goals is to partner with and bless other churches in our area. To that end, VIT offers a partner church residency program where residents serve on part-time staff at another local church while participating in part-time residency training at JPBC. This program provides the opportunity to gain practical ministry experience in a church while also pursuing an MDiv.
Positions
Hillsboro Baptist Church: Pastoral Assistant
Rockfish Valley Baptist Church: Music Intern
If this residency sounds of interest to you or if you have any questions, please contact Keith Goad (keith@jpbc.org).
