At the heart of our week together as a church family are our worship services on the Lord’s Day (Sunday).
At JPBC we do not try to make our worship “contemporary” or “traditional.” Our goal is an authentic, God-centered time of worship through Biblical preaching-teaching, spiritual singing, and prayer.
Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
1 Timothy 4:13: Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
In general our messages come from systematic exposition through a book from the Bible. Lord willing, in 2009 we will complete a study of the Gospel of Mark and begin a study through the book of Romans. Sunday evenings are usually devoted to Biblical teaching; over the last several years we looked at various topics and several books of the Old Testament.
JPBC is a family friendly church. We encourage families to sit together in our worship services. Children learn how to worship through their regular participation and involvement in our services. A nursery is optionally available for younger children (under age 3) during the Sunday 10:45 am and 6:00 pm services.
