9:30 am Bible Study (Sunday School) for all ages
10:45 am Morning Worship (meets in Sanctuary)
6:00 pm Evening Worship (meets in Sanctuary)
The ordinance of the Lord’s Supper is observed on the first Sunday morning of each month. Baptisms are also generally held on the first Sunday of the month. The first Sunday service is followed by a covered-dish fellowship lunch in the Fellowship Hall.
On the third Sunday of each month, a doughnut and bagel fellowship is held from 9:00-9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall.

Worship

At the heart of our week together as a church family are our worship services on the Lord’s Day (Sunday).

Our Lord’s Day morning service begins at 10:45 am. This time of worship includes congregational singing, prayer, the sharing of music from our sanctuary choir, and Biblical based preaching.
Our Sunday evening worship meets at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. We sing hymns and choruses, offer intercessory prayer, and hear Biblical teaching.

What is JPBC’s worship style?

At JPBC we do not try to make our worship “contemporary” or “traditional.” Our goal is an authentic, God-centered time of worship through Biblical preaching-teaching, spiritual singing, and prayer.

Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

1 Timothy 4:13: Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

What is the preaching like?

In general our messages come from systematic exposition through a book from the Bible. Since mid-2005 we have finished a chapter by chapter study of 2 Corinthians, Judges and 1 & 2 Thessalonians; currently we are studying the Gospel of Mark. Sunday evenings are usually devoted to Biblical teaching; over the last several years we have worked through the Old Testament books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Malachi. Beginning October 14, we are doing a nine-part series on "the order of salvation." How are children involved in worship?

Children are a valued part of our church. A nursery is available for younger children (under age 3) during the 10:45 am service. We sometimes offer a special children’s message during the 10:45 am worship service. We also sometimes offer Cherub Church (children dismissed for age appropriate teaching) during morning worship for younger children (ages 3-Kindergarten). Children’s message and Cherub Church opportunities will be announced in the weekly bulletin. Parents are always welcomed to allow their children to remain in the services with them. Children’s choirs perform on special occasions throughout the year (Easter, Mother’s Day, Vacation Bible School Celebration, Christmas).
