In addition to our budgetary support for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world through the SBC's International Mission Board (IMB) and North American Mission Board (NAMB), we contribute directly to specific missions causes we consider worthy, including:
JPBC offers several opportunities to be involved in short term mission trips. In 1998 JPBC members went to Panama (youth ministry), Slovakia (camp construction), and West Memphis, Arkansas (inner-city Backyard Bible Club). In 1999 a Spring team did a weekend construction trip for a mission church in New Jersey and a Summer Team did a mission Vacation Bible School in an apartment complex outside Philadelphia. In summer 2000 we sent a team from JPBC to do an evangelistic English camp in Bekes (BAY-kesh), Hungary. In summer 2001 we sent a team of youth and adults to do a World Changers Project in Bremerton, Washington. In summer 2002 we sent a World Changers team to Philadelphia. In summer 2003 we sent a World Changers team to Atlanta and a team to do an evangelistic English camp in Bicske (BEECH-ka), Hungary.
In summer 2004 a World Changers team went to Durham, NC, and we hosted a summer intern from our sister church in Bicske. In summer 2005 a World Changers team went to Roanoke, VA, and the youth went to MissionFuge in Nashville, TN in summer 2006.
In July 2007, 13 people (youth and adults) from JPBC will make another trip to Bicske Baptist Church in Hungary to teach in an evangelistic English camp.
JPBC is pleased to host the Chinese Christian Church of Charlottesville in our building’s downstairs fellowship hall and to welcome its members to participate in our Sunday School.
